Two Perm athletes to perform at the Paralympic Games in Sochi.
The Russian team at the Paralympic Games in Sochi has been approved. The national team includes two athletes from the Perm region. These are Maria Papulova (Alpine skiing, athletes with lesions of the musculoskeletal system) and Oleg Ponomarev (skiing and biathlon, visually impaired sport). Oleg Ponomarev is accompanied by the leading guide Andrei Romanov.
According to the Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko, 78 athletes (11 of them leading guides) will represent Russia at the Paralympics. It is for the first time that Russians will perform in all kinds of sports program of the Paralympic Games. Competitions will be held March 7-16.
10 athletes from Prikamye will perform at the Olympics.
